Founded in 1855, Greene Street Friends School in the Germantown section of the city houses more than 300 students from Pre-K through eighth grade. The School is known for its socio-economic diversity, its rich academic program, its creative and dedicated faculty, its grounding in Quaker values, and its close ties to the community.
Greene Street Friends School is currently comprised of its building on Greene Street, a building on Armat Street, an administrative building on Schoolhouse Lane, and exterior spaces between the buildings as well as a half-acre field. In 2010, the school conducted a long-term facilities master planning process which has resulted in the construction of a field, alternate parking, and interior renovations. This project is a new construction multipurpose building addition next to the Armat Street property which contains performance space for their arts/music program, gymnasium, and supporting classrooms.
