Driven by their vision to inspire and equip every student to lead a life of achievement, service, and success; Paul Robeson Charter School expanded its enrollment from 435 students to 675 and needed a new home.
The new two-story, 55,000 SF modern learning environment is warm and welcoming with the ability to accomodate 750 K-8 students in spaces that include 38 academic classrooms, science labs, elective and flexible student spaces, and a shared cafeteria/gymnasium. There is an open atrium at the entrance and administrative and academic support areas.
Built on a previously vacant lot on the Trenton-Ewing border, the school’s new outdoor spaces include sculpted berms designed for outdoor play and learning, a playground, and a basketball court.
Other project team members include Atkin Olshin Schade Architects, Torcon, Bala Consulting Engineers, and O’Donnell & Naccarato.
