Philadelphia Zoo 2025 Accreditation

Aegis provided project management support to the Philadelphia Zoo in its preparations for its 2025 accreditation by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, a prestigious independent Accreditation Commission that values excellence in animal care, safety, educational programs, staff training, and visitor experience.  As a condition of membership, AZA facilities must complete this rigorous accreditation process every five years. Philadelphia Zoo is one of two zoos to have been continuously accredited since 1984.

The process required implementing repairs, renovations, and improvements throughout nearly all areas of the 42-acre Zoo campus and within each building  to prepare for renewed accreditation in 2025. Spaces touched range from animal habitats to behind the scenes systems and facilities crucial to operation.
