Location: Swarthmore, Pennsylvania
Architect: Goody Clancy
The new home of the Film and Media Studies and Computer Science departments and Media Center, Swarthmore College’s Martin Hall, formerly a biology building, was reimagined into an interdisciplinary technological center and social space for the Swarthmore community. Opened for the fall 2025 semester, the building has five computer science classrooms, a 44-seat screening room, film production studio with green screen, video and audio editing suites, media gallery for rotating displays, and informal living rooms and other spaces to study, connect, and socialize. There is also an Arts Plaza and outdoor gathering area.
The project was a 34,000 SF addition and a 14,000 SF renovation and is targeting Living Building Challenge Core Certification.
